Do I need a passport to visit?
No! Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so U.S. citizens do not need a passport.
What airport should I fly into?
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan.
The main Puerto Rico airport is close to hotel options and approximately 30–45 minutes from the wedding venue, depending on traffic.
When should I arrive?
We recommend arriving at least one full day before the wedding to relax, settle in, and avoid any travel delays.
If you’re making a vacation out of the trip (which we highly recommend!), consider arriving 2–3 days early.
How long should I stay?
If you’re making a vacation out of it, spending 3–5 days exploring Puerto Rico is reasonable.
There’s plenty to enjoy nearby, including beaches, rainforest adventures, historic Old San Juan, snorkeling, and excellent restaurants.
Is Puerto Rico safe?
Generally yes, it is very similar to what you’d expect in the United States.
Use the same common-sense precautions you would while traveling anywhere.
What currency is used?
US Dollars exclusively.
Will my phone work?
Yes.
Every major U.S. carrier include Puerto Rico with no additional roaming charges.
What language is spoken?
Spanish and English are both widely spoken.
Will transportation be provided?
Transportation will be provided between our host hotel(s) and the wedding venue on the wedding day. More details and schedules will be posted closer to the wedding.
Should I rent a car?
If you plan to spend most of your trip relaxing in the San Juan-area, a rental car isn’t necessary and ride share can be used.
If you’d like to explore El Yunque National Forest, Old San Juan, local beaches, or other parts of the island, we highly recommend renting a car.
Can I bring a guest (plus-one)?
Yes! If your invitation includes a plus-one, we'd be delighted to celebrate with both of you. Please be sure to include your guest's name when submitting your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Are children welcome?
Absolutely! We are thrilled to celebrate with guests of all ages. Please let us know how many children will be attending with your party when you RSVP. For children under 12, some simple paperwork from the venue may be required which we will organize.
What’s the weather like?
Consistent temperatures of around 80–85°F with tropical humidity.
Brief rain showers are common, but they’re usually short.
Can I drink the tap water?
Yes.
Tap water is generally safe to drink.
Can I use my credit card?
Yes.
Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere although you’ll find some local places prefer cash.
